Dead-End Roll
Dead-End Roll is a game made for GBJam 13, about an unlucky occurance that could happen to anyone who regularly takes public transport...
The unlucky predicament...
Your train ride seems to go smoothly, too smoothly... until the train suddenly comes to a halt, due to weird debris on the track... dice?! It's now your humble job to defeat the evil 1d3 by solving the problems of your fellow passengers. You better be lucky, otherwise you'll be stuck on the tracks for the next 13 hours!
The gameplay is simple - roll the dice in your favour!
By interacting with an NPC or an object, you are given the choice to roll the dice. Bunping your head on the dice is all you gotta do! Your luckiness is measured by the number you get, 3 being lucky and 1 being unlucky. You can cheese your roll for one NPC by talking to another in the same room, but beware! Once you've talked with an NPC, you are locked to solve their quest.
This game is a collaboration between me and my friend Turtle. They made the backgrounds and helped with quests, gameplay and setting, and I did the programming, dialogue and the passenger sprites. Unlucky for us there's no sound in this game due to a stress-related lack of time :( but I hope that you'll like this game enough to stay tuned for our potential future games!
